The Microwave is the [[Chef]]'s (And unlucky prisoner's) choice of heating utensil, being able to cook everything to perfection from bread, to pizza and pies, as long as you select the right time to cook. It has a menu layout similar to the [[Grinder]], with ingredients in the microwave on the left, and a selection of buttons on the right. You can pick between Instantanious and 30 seconds of cooking time using said buttons. Each [[Cooking]] recipe requires a different time in the microwave, and if the time or ingredients are wrong the ingredients in the microwave will either be spit out or it will burn, creating a [[Burnt Mess]].

The microwave is the premier kitchen appliance, being able to cook almost any meal you can think of as long as it's supplied with the right ingredients.

The microwave's UI lists the inserted ingredients on the left and a range of cooking times (from instantaneous to 30 seconds) on the right. Each recipe requires both specific ingredients and a specific cooking time; if a recipe is invalid, the microwave will simply spit out the inserted ingredients instead of cooking them.

You can cook multiple instances of the same food in the microwave, but you'll need to increase the ingredients and cooking time accordingly (e.g, if you want double the amount of food, you'll need to double both the number of ingredients and the total cooking time).

Provided you have a pretty good reason, a fun trick you can do with the microwave is to gain additional accesses on ID cards. If you put an ID card into a microwave, select instant, and hit start, there's a chance your card becomes useless OR gains an additional access. Doing this with cards you procured responsibly, and copying them onto an Agent ID Card is one of many ways to get around an otherwise locked down station.
