Proto-Kinetic Accelerator (PKA for short) is ranged weapon that deals Template:Blunt and Template:Structural damage. It is mainly used by Salvage for mining or breaking structures and killing space fauna, such as Space Carp.
Modifications
Template:Vulture only Modifications (mods for short) allow for upgrades to PKA's damage, fire rate or range.
Only two unique upgrades can be installed at the same time, such as damage and fire rate, but not damage and damage. Template:Callout Once researched, each mod can be made on a protolathe or security techfab with Template:Item recipeModification were added along with these PKA's balance changes:
- Damage: Template:Blunt and Template:Structural → Template:Blunt and Template:Structural
- Range: 10 tiles → 5.5 tiles
- Projectile lifetime: 0.4 second → 0.22 seconds
With above changes, modkits tweaks do the following:
- PKA modkit (damage) improves damage by Template:Blunt and Template:Structural, to Template:Blunt and Template:Structural.
- PKA modkit (range) improves range by 2.75 tiles (by speeding up the projectile 1.5 times), to 8.25 tiles.
- PKA modkit (fire rate) improves fire rate by 1.5 times, to 0.75 shots/sec.
